Charlemagne () is an off-island suburb of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is located on the north shore of the Rivière des Prairies, northeast of Montreal's downtown core. As of 2011, the population was 5,853.
It is the birthplace of recording artist, Céline Dion,〔(Céline Dion receives honorary doctorate in Quebec City ) ''CBC News'' Retrieved 2011-05-11〕 who is the winner of the 1988 Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin, Ireland with her song, "Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi" and whom the town's council named one of its main streets after,〔()〕 doing so without the recognition of the Quebec Commission.〔(Céline Dion's name goes on - a street ) ''CBC News'' Retrieved 2011-05-11〕 Additionally, the town erected a sculpture on Dion's behalf.〔 Charlemagne is also the birthplace of politician, Camille Laurin.
